Well, here it is. Your back is up against a wall of snow, your head is leaning on a wall of snow, your feet are touching a wall of snow, your door opens to the breeze that's swirling around zero degrees wind chill....it's so awesome. Wish you call could try it!!!<br /><div></div>Angie Josephhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15710596893767985734noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4288048991074531852.post-61313395500162347422009-02-14T14:11:00.000-08:002009-02-14T14:16:19.533-08:00Winter Packing<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SZdCXNbBiUI/AAAAAAAAAWc/nnK7I1txayw/s1600-h/DSC05328.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5302780052759480642" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SZdCXNbBiUI/AAAAAAAAAWc/nnK7I1txayw/s400/DSC05328.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div>This is what it looks like when you get ready to go camping in the woods in winter. The weather was semi co-operative with us. We had lots of fun. Hiked our butts off, literally. Did you know that heavy snow with snow shoes on is like strapping a shovel to your foot and then lifting it up over and over again? Now you do. Try it some time. It's better than lunges....<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SZdAHI08ldI/AAAAAAAAAWM/22OOyfMqmxk/s1600-h/IMG_1145.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5302777577624868306" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SZdAHI08ldI/AAAAAAAAAWM/22OOyfMqmxk/s400/IMG_1145.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div></div>Angie Josephhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15710596893767985734noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4288048991074531852.post-24840743004113339092009-02-14T13:35:00.001-08:002009-02-14T13:40:30.264-08:00Winter CampingThe temperature was 15 degrees. The perfect temp to test our survival skills. We started with an old fallen tree and built a shelter. Then we built a fire and roasted potatoes and hotdogs for supper. Of course, we ate some chocolate to keep us warm and then snuggled in for a warm winters night.<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SZc6AbKmDuI/AAAAAAAAAWE/QdTmFcd3TNk/s1600-h/DSC05338.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5302770865218653922" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SZc6AbKmDuI/AAAAAAAAAWE/QdTmFcd3TNk/s400/DSC05338.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SZc6ADNrM3I/AAAAAAAAAV8/1QNA9Oy1Dq4/s1600-h/DSC05339.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5302770858789122930" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SZc6ADNrM3I/AAAAAAAAAV8/1QNA9Oy1Dq4/s400/DSC05339.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div></div></div>Angie Josephhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15710596893767985734noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4288048991074531852.post-46565861203527732092008-09-25T06:53:00.000-07:002008-09-25T07:04:05.393-07:00River Rats abd Giant Cedars<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SNuZaTLPcOI/AAAAAAAAAQM/PkTZm_T8Rts/s1600-h/DSC05002.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SNuZaTLPcOI/AAAAAAAAAQM/PkTZm_T8Rts/s400/DSC05002.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5249958467733516514" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SNuZbA20pbI/AAAAAAAAAQU/RmcqRFM4JVY/s1600-h/DSC05005.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SNuZbA20pbI/AAAAAAAAAQU/RmcqRFM4JVY/s400/DSC05005.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5249958479995905458" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SNuZb0uCRMI/AAAAAAAAAQc/MoMOMxS1UV8/s1600-h/DSC05012.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SNuZb0uCRMI/AAAAAAAAAQc/MoMOMxS1UV8/s400/DSC05012.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5249958493917693122" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SNuZcvD5uWI/AAAAAAAAAQk/dK1r8xjoHp8/s1600-h/DSC05013.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SNuZcvD5uWI/AAAAAAAAAQk/dK1r8xjoHp8/s400/DSC05013.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5249958509578664290" border="0" /></a>Angie Josephhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15710596893767985734noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4288048991074531852.post-21570451853767376522008-09-25T06:48:00.001-07:002008-09-25T06:53:41.658-07:00More River Shots<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SNuXnVZqKCI/AAAAAAAAAP0/8Osz5J0Z-FM/s1600-h/DSC04987.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SNuXnVZqKCI/AAAAAAAAAP0/8Osz5J0Z-FM/s400/DSC04987.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5249956492645902370" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SNuXn_hJ2TI/AAAAAAAAAP8/WnMN7tqN4-U/s1600-h/DSC04992.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SNuXn_hJ2TI/AAAAAAAAAP8/WnMN7tqN4-U/s400/DSC04992.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5249956503951628594" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SNuXopouTaI/AAAAAAAAAQE/pc36TnHvMrQ/s1600-h/DSC04996.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SNuXopouTaI/AAAAAAAAAQE/pc36TnHvMrQ/s400/DSC04996.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5249956515257666978" border="0" /></a>Angie Josephhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15710596893767985734noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4288048991074531852.post-34943810166265106932008-09-25T06:39:00.000-07:002008-09-25T06:48:38.255-07:00GNP Rivers<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SNuWJasaAII/AAAAAAAAAPM/iNvMYMeI9UU/s1600-h/DSC04968.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SNuWJasaAII/AAAAAAAAAPM/iNvMYMeI9UU/s400/DSC04968.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5249954879159009410" border="0" /></a>It was worth the drive to GNP just to see the rivers. We hiked 8 miles, all up, until we couldn't hike any farther. Some people refuse to eat and drink enough when they are in elevation, so they have to sit by a log and suffer. Of course, eating and drinking at any time is the cure, but some refuse to eat supper and drink Powerade. Oh well, others enjoy a gorgeous river, a peaceful campfire, a wonderful morning, great food, and of course, Powerade. The morning especially was so beautiful, alone in the wilderness, the sun beginning to creep down the edge of the mountain, the warmeth of the camp fire, a sound of the river racing past, it was a Kodak moment for sure. <br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SJTSdw4g5uI/AAAAAAAAANk/wAq7mgaVJ8E/s1600-h/DSC04595.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5230036476063966946" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SJTSdw4g5uI/AAAAAAAAANk/wAq7mgaVJ8E/s400/DSC04595.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div></div>Angie Josephhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15710596893767985734noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4288048991074531852.post-6216809859803780212008-08-02T14:26:00.000-07:002008-08-02T14:29:52.750-07:00Special time with Jen<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SJTRvWlboKI/AAAAAAAAANE/96jc99Z2ZoM/s1600-h/DSC04532.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5230035678730625186" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SJTRvWlboKI/AAAAAAAAANE/96jc99Z2ZoM/s400/DSC04532.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SJTRv4gDFQI/AAAAAAAAANM/2B2RLA18nCE/s1600-h/DSC04561.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5230035687834850562" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SJTRv4gDFQI/AAAAAAAAANM/2B2RLA18nCE/s400/DSC04561.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SJTRwPG2o3I/AAAAAAAAANU/x4Rp2hPshGU/s1600-h/DSC04571.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5230035693903192946" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SJTRwPG2o3I/AAAAAAAAANU/x4Rp2hPshGU/s400/DSC04571.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div>We hiked up to the Blue Lakes. It was fun to cross the rivers. We saw one group of day hikers that had two little girls and they crossed an old miners bridge that had slid out over a water fall and it was all slippery and very unstable. We had to leave because we couldn't stand to see the girls go across with probably an 100' water fall dropping beneath them.</div>Angie Josephhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15710596893767985734noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4288048991074531852.post-37268726328162806282008-08-02T14:08:00.000-07:002008-08-02T14:12:11.036-07:00Black Canyon<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SJTNG2BgbPI/AAAAAAAAAME/v-yTILqdZcY/s1600-h/IMG_0760.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5230030584748731634" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SJTNG2BgbPI/AAAAAAAAAME/v-yTILqdZcY/s400/IMG_0760.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div>We climbed down the Black Canyon, 1800 feet vertical to the bottom. They said it would take 1.5 hrs to get down and at least 3 hrs to get up. We made it down in 1.75 hrs and we made it up in 1.5 hrs. We couldn't believe it. It seemed easier going up than it did slipping and sliding down the loose rock. For 80' there was a chain, you had to lower yourself down the chain, part of it was over my head so I had to put my arms up in order to reach it. It was my favorite part. </div>Angie Josephhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15710596893767985734noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4288048991074531852.post-37544635921455360412008-08-02T14:04:00.000-07:002008-08-02T14:08:33.320-07:00Colorado, 1st of July<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SJTMrmsmmXI/AAAAAAAAALs/0xnEhG4mhcU/s1600-h/IMG_0706.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5230030116778056050" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SJTMrmsmmXI/AAAAAAAAALs/0xnEhG4mhcU/s400/IMG_0706.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SJTMsFIfbZI/AAAAAAAAAL0/354WG2r_qqo/s1600-h/IMG_0719.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5230030124948090258" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SJTMsFIfbZI/AAAAAAAAAL0/354WG2r_qqo/s400/IMG_0719.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SJTMsVlCvFI/AAAAAAAAAL8/BebTXaBm8eE/s1600-h/IMG_0738.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5230030129362811986" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jEDthCmZGBo/SJTMsVlCvFI/AAAAAAAAAL8/BebTXaBm8eE/s400/IMG_0738.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div>It was so pretty hiking in Colorado earlier in the summer. She jumps from the floor into our arms when we are standing, whether we want her to or not. We play hide and seek and if she can't find us, she screams like a girlie dog. I got a new brush to get the winter fluff out of her fur and all i have to do is show it to her and she starts to cry and whine. She has whining down to perfection. She can really poor on the pathetic dog act as well. When I came home from church and was changing my clothes, I looked out the window and someone had tired her up out back. She was playing with a stick and when she saw me she got all mournful and seemed to say, "don't you feel sorry for me, out here all alone."</div>Angie Josephhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15710596893767985734noreply@blogger.com0
